baby quilter has arrived

I am so happy to announce that my son was born last week and about 9 days early! Our family is quite sleep deprived right now but I've been trying to snatch some pictures of him here and there when I'm able. I really appreciate all the support I've received from everyone and for those of you interested in seeing the little guy...here he is:

Another kind of photography

I had the pleasure of having a 4D-Ultrasound of my little guy this week and it was the most amazing experience! I just had to share a couple of the sweet images that came from the ultrasound. 4D-Ultrasound is such an incredible technology and the Triangle Imaging Center in Cary did such an amazing job for our family. It was really special to get a sneak peek of my son and it was so fun to watch my older son during the ultrasound as he would talk about his baby brother. If you are pregnant, this is definitely a must-do!

Pre Holiday Sale

First I have to apologize for getting the re-print sale off to a very late start! I've been trying to wrap up all my final orders from July so that I could keep everything straight. And being pregnant seems to slow everything down so I really want to thank you for your patience!

I am so happy to pass along some savings for this re-print sale and I hope it helps a little if you are thinking forward to the holidays for gift ideas or even if you are thinking for yourself (Mom's deserve a little extra indulgence here and there!) Maternity Leave Update

Well everyone, I've finally ironed out my maternity leave schedule...I will be starting my maternity leave August 1st and I plan to return in December for limited sessions and then full strength in January 2009.

I'm also planning a really awesome re-print sale in August (if you can think ahead for holiday presents). It will be a special "Christmas in August" if you will. I'll be contacting clients alphabetically and will be re-posting your galleries for a limited time. The re-prints will be offered at a discount!

I'll also be offering holiday cards to those of you who have already had sessions this summer. I'll be posting that information at the very beginning of August.

And before I go here is a sneak peek from my session last weekend of this precious 1 year old. I had done her newborn pictures and it was so neat to see her so grown up and just talking up a storm!

Brothers are great!

June is here I have really been behind on posting to my blog! I am shocked that the whole month of May slipped away so quickly. I think I've been in a pregnancy fog so now that I'm finally over morning sickness so I hope to do much better!

One thing I love about outdoor photo sessions is the energy the kids bring to their pictures! And these two brothers were overflowing with fun energy for their pictures. They both had such great smiles and I wanted to share some of my favorites where you can really see their special brotherhood bond!

exciting news and a newborn preview

I am so pleased to announce that my husband and I are expecting our second child. We are so happy to be adding to our little family. I am due at the beginning of November!

I'm not entirely sure how many fall sessions I will be doing at this point so stay tuned and I will post my fall availability. Right now I am booked through the end of July but I will post any cancellations that open up.

schedule update

I will be "out of the office" and not checking email from Saturday, April 19th - Saturday, April 26th. My family and I are taking a much needed vacation to the beautiful shores of North Carolina! I couldn't be more excited for this week long get-away. And I'm hoping to get some really fun pictures of my son on the beach.

I've tried to let all my current clients know that I'll be away; but if you are a new client interested in a session please be patient with me and I will get back to you when I return next weekend!

And I couldn't leave without posting pictures from my most recent newborn session. This little guy melted my heart!

Cary Living Magazine Photo Shoot

I'm really excited to share the news that I had the opportunity to do a children's fashion shoot for the March/April issue of Cary Living Magazine. I was able to photograph 4 of the very sweetest children while they modeled some very gorgeous spring outfits! The outfits were provided by local stores such as Polkadots, Padoodles, Little Tomo, and Pattywhacks.

I am planning to open up some weekend evening sessions - please contact me if you are interested. These special evening sessions would be held later in the evening before sunset so please consider how that would affect your children. These would be ideal for families with older children.

Many session are still available! I know the weekend sessions are the most popular during these months, so if you know your summer vacation schedule please contact me so you can get a spot reserved.

Also, I just have to do a preview of this darling 6 month old. She was so wonderful during her photo session despite the fact that she had skipped her nap - she must have been excited about getting her pictures taken. :) I haven't checked with Mom yet, but I'm hoping she took a nice long nap that day!

Maternity Session Fashion

Here are a few favorites from a maternity session last week and it shows a couple of great ideas for outfits. I always love the classic black outfit - it is ultra slimming and really accentuates the baby belly, but I also found that I love the chic look of a white shirt and denim.



I've also introduced fabric wraps to my maternity sessions. I'll have a couple of options based on your skin tone and your preference of course! Here is an example - I think this mom-to-be looks stunning!

More twins!

I was very lucky to photograph yet another set of twins this past weekend. These baby girls were very sweet. I was surprised to see that they still both fit in my newborn basket at 6 weeks old.



This month has been much busier than I anticipated and I am very behind on posting blog news, but hopefully things should slow down after this holiday weekend. Luckily, there are some very exciting things in the works (new announcements and albums) and some very cool projects that I will announce very soon!

Sessions are all full. I will post any cancellations just in case anyone is still looking for an easter session.

All weekends are full, but I do have some remaining weekday openings.

Also, I wanted to post some of my favorites from my most recent newborn session. The Mom of this baby had an amazing plan for her session. She saved her pregnant belly cast to use as a prop for her little one. I think it made a very special picture and of course her little one fell right asleep once she was curled up.

I had so much fun photographing this little newborn! It was one of the coldest days of the year (cold enough to bring snow - we all watched the snowflakes fall with great excitement) but luckily we were toasty warm inside. This little one fell fast asleep for her entire session and was a dream to photograph!

I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of one of my favorite newborn sessions from last week. Baby's Mom used a bloomer to cover her diaper and I think it looks adorable - I wanted to share the idea with the rest of the Mom's out there! What a nice way to add some style to your newborn session.

seeing double

I had the rare opportunity to photograph newborn twins at just 5 days old and only 5 pounds each! These little babies were so tiny and felt light as a feather. They were so sweet when they nestled together as they were in the womb; it was just amazing to see!

sweet sweet baby...

When I photographed this baby, it reminded me so much of how much I love this baby stage. I do realize I'm always saying that, but it's true: I just love all the baby stages!

I had the opportunity to use all natural light for these pictures. I really love the softness that the natural light adds to his skin. Here are a couple of my favorites...

first session of 2008

I wanted to do a sneak peek of my first session in 2008. This session was so much fun and despite the bitter cold temperatures this sweet 5 year old did an amazing job! It was such a great session to start off the new year.

I really love winter time and it's great to see that outdoor photo sessions can be done at anytime of year and that kids can look so amazing with their winter hats & mittens.

So...the New Year is finally here and so are new Baby Books!

I created these Baby Books for families that love the look and feel of coffee table art books. This is a hard bound 10x10 inch book (20 pages total) with thick satin pages and can hold 20+ pictures from your session.
